Setubal sack Carlos Azenha

Coach released due to to poor results

carlosazenha2.jpgAnother coach has fallen the in the Liga Sagres as Vitoria Setubal have pulled the plug on Carlos Azenha.

The move does not come as much of a surprise as Setubal are sitting rock-bottom in the table with only one point and with a goal difference of minus 12.

Azenha was only hired this past summer after serving under Jesulado Ferreira at FC Porto. But the season has been dismal for the Sadinos thus far and the board of directors felt that they had no recourse after yesterday's 4-0 demolition at home at the hands of Uniao de Leiria.

No word has been said as to who will take over, but it is expected that Carlos Cardoso will be inserted in the interim.

Really, if someone can let me know...what happened with VFC?

They looked like a club that has been a decent team for a long time coming...how did they lose their entire team?

Too bad for VFC.

I agree with what Issac/ US said - and to think, my Santa Clara didn't get promoted so these morons could continue in the top flight with no $$$. Whats sad is that the only thing V.S. had going for it was Azenha's noble attempt to make lemonaide out of lemons... and now they don't even have that!

The bosses at Setubal have to be some of the biggest idiots on the planet. What did they expect? They lost the entire team from last year and replaced them with a bunch of amateurs. They had a zero budget to go out and buy players and are still in financial crises. I feel bad for Azenha because he was destined to fail right from the start. Just get it over with and relegate these bozos.
