Injury blow for Goncalo BrandaoDefender set for spell on the sidelines Goncalo Brandao’s trial stint with Juventus is over after the Portuguese defender suffered a suspected rupture of the Achilles during a friendly match on the team’s tour of North America.
The Siena stopper joined the Juventus squad for a period of training and two exhibition matches in North America against the New York Red Bulls and Fiorentina, in the United States and Toronto, Canada, respectively. The 23-year-old recently admitted that he was hoping to impress enough to possibly win a transfer to Turin. However, just twelve minutes into the match with Fiorentina at the Rogers Centre, Brandao went down injured, and early reports suggest serious damage.
