Goncalo Brandao to undergo surgery, out for up to six monthsDefender to have operation Italian club Siena have confirmed that Portuguese defender Goncalo Brandao has ruptured his Achilles tendon and will require surgery.
The 23-year-old was invited to join Juventus’ end-of-season tour of North America, but suffered the injury to the Achilles in his right leg after just twelve minutes of the Bianconeri’s match with Fiorentina in Toronto earlier this week. Related article: Goncalo Brandao begins Juventus stint Initial suspicions that the injury was serious have now been confirmed, with Siena declaring that the former Belenenses man will be operated on tomorrow at the San Giuseppe Hospital in Arezzo. Brandao is then expected to be out for between four and six months, meaning he will miss a large chunk of the first half of the 2010/11 season. No offence but yeah we need an update on Tiago and I think I read elsewhere that Simao was injured too?
I wish Brandao a successful operation and a fast recovery.
Obvioulsy there is still Portuguese players who will or might be transfered, our beloved Mourinho talked about a little bit of his insight of the current Madrid squad and perhaps possible future ones. Also the Jesualdo exit from Porto is big news as well but these headlines need to take a back seat to our boys on the NT.
