Tales: “It’s a dream to be at Sporting”

Midfielder delighted with move

Brazilian under-20 international Tales underwent his first training session with Sporting yesterday, having beaten the transfer deadline to move to the Alvalade on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old joins from Internacional, where he earned a reputation as a promising midfield player, representing Brazil at every youth level. Tales has played 74 times for his country at under-15, under-17 and under-20 level, making him the player with the most youth caps for the Canarinho, according to the Brazilian Soccer Federation.

“Joining Sporting is a dream, because it is one of the biggest clubs in Portugal and Europe and it is an enormous pleasure to be a part of this squad,” Tales said. “I want to be one more player who will try to help Sporting win and it’ll give me great pleasure to do so.

“I am young and it is difficult to put into words the happiness I am feeling to be at Sporting. I am sure I will learn a lot from my new teammates. I want to learn from the senior players and grow every day as a player and as a person.”
