Stojkovic shipped to Wigan AthleticGoalkeeper on loan deal Sporting outcast Vladimir Stojkovic has been told to pack his bags as the netminder will spend the next six months on loan with Premier League side Wigan Athletic.
The Serbian goalkeeper has had a harrowing time at the Lisbon club since joining from FC Nantes in 2007. The 26-year-old has been unable to hold the starting position in goal having only made 13 appearances for the Leoes in the past two years. A frigid relatonshiop with then coach Paulo Bento saw the shot-stopper move to Getafe on loan last season, where he made five starts between the posts for the Spanish outfit. Since returning to Sporting this year, Stojkovic has been unsuccessful in toppling Rui Patricio for the job as the number one goalkeepr and will look to resurrect his career with The Latics.
