Vidigal sacked by LeiriaCarvalhal tipped to take over In a shock move, Uniao de Leiria have decided to let go of head coach Lito Vidigal with immediate effect.
The troubled side are in the midst of relocating as the club is seeking financial support in order to keep afloat. Having yet to strike a deal with city officials, the latest news is just another incident that will add to the pile of misery that the organistion is already immersed in. It is understood that the club and manager could not see eye-to-eye in terms of reinforcing the squad and allowing players to leave in order to raise funds. Feeling there was no option left, Vidigal and Leiria have decided to part ways. The former Estrela da Amadora boss was only inserted into the coahing position last October after Manuel Fernandes opted to leave for Vitoria Setubal. Vidigal posted a record of 8 wins, 4 draws and 11 defeats during his time with Lis. Expected to take over from the 40-year-old Angolan is former Sporting boss Carlos Carvalhal. by Marco Pereira |
