Uniao de Leiria chasing Rafael BastosClub to bolster midfield Uniao de Leiria are busy this off-season, as the club prepares for their return to the top flight of Portuguese football. Manuel Fernandes feels the squad needs all the tools he can get his hands on in order to stay up and is looking at midfielder Rafael Bastos to help them do just that.
The former Belenenses and Nacional attacker spent last season with Brazilian club Vitoria da Bahia, but has since been let go and Leiria have confessed that they are trying to make a swoop for the 24-year-old. "Yes, he is a player who we like a lot," confessed Manuel Fernandes to A Bola. "We would like to count on him, but if it is not possible, there are other alternatives that do exist." In other team news, striker Tchami is with Leiria on a trial period as the 26-year-old Cameroonian is looking for a place to call home.
