Miguel out for three weeksDefender sidelined Valencia defender Miguel will be out for at least three weeks after suffering a knee injury during Wednesday night’s victory over Malaga.
The match at the Mestalla was just fourteen minutes old when Miguel was forced off, being replaced by Angel Dealbert Benitez. Medical tests were carried out on Friday morning, with the results showing slight muscle damage in the former Benfica man’s knee. Miguel will be re-evaluated again in ten days, but the initial prognosis is that he will be out of action for three weeks, ruling him out of at least seven matches as Valencia embark on a busy schedule in La Liga and the Europa League. With Jose Bosingwa already ruled out of the World Cup, Miguel’s fitness will be of major interest to Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz ahead of this summer’s finals in South Africa. Miguel will get back on his feet and work hard, let's be happy that it's now and not during the WC tournament.
The one area of the national team that looked strongest was the back line. That is quickly starting to change.
I'm 6 ft 2, and can jump decently high. I have no endurance to run up and down the field but I can be useful in the box during set pieces. Call me up! I'll tug a few shirts, throw some elbows..
