Video: Almeida scores cracker in Bremen drawBayer Leverkusen 2-2 Werder Bremen Hugo Almeida came off the bench to score his fourth Bundesliga goal of the season against Bayer Leverkusen yesterday, as Werder Bremen earned a draw at the BayArena.
The Portugal striker was introduced at half time with his team 1-0 down to Patrick Helmes‘ 17th-minute strike, and the former Porto man levelled just seven minutes after his arrival. Almeida converted a free-kick from long-range with a vintage left-footed strike, drilling the ball into the bottom corner. Almeida would then play a part in the goal that put Bremen ahead less than ten minutes after the equaliser, showing great control to touch a long ball into the path of Aaron Hunt, who picked out Marko Marin in the centre for the midfielder to make it 2-1 to Bremen with just over an hour played. Bremen were unable to see the match out, though, as Eren Derdiyok’s brilliant individual effort twelve minutes from time earned the hosts a point. Although a decent result for Bremen at the home of 4th-placed Bayer, the point leaves Thomas Schaaf’s men down in 13th place in the Bundesliga with just two wins from seven matches played.

Wasn't that first goal offside, Acording to FIFA rules the player must back off the play and he kept running making the defender stay with him. They called an an offside on Braga vs Benfica and the Braga player was nowhere near the ball..
A shame he didn't start the game though, especially considering Pizarro's absence.
