Almeida bags winner in Bremen winWerder Bremen 2-1 Freiburg Hugo Almeida made it four goals in his last three Bundesliga matches as he netted a late winner for Werder Bremen to give them all three points against Freiburg on Saturday afternoon.
The Portugal striker glanced home Claudio Pizarro’s cross with seventeen minutes remaining to give Bremen only their third win of the season. Freiburg had drawn level at 1-1 just after the hour when Julian Schuster’s goal cancelled out Aaron Hunt’s stunning 33rd minute opener for the hosts. Ahead of the recent international break, Almeida had registered in the 2-2 draw at Bayer Leverkusen, as well as scoring a brace in the previous week’s 3-2 home win over Hamburg. With five goals to his name so far in the current campaign, the former Porto man is joint-second in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts behind Freiburg’s Papiss Cisse, who leads with seven.

I'd like to see him develop his composure in front of goal, but other than that, if he stays healthy, he's got the starting job at Euro 2012 in my book.
