Ricardo Costa’s Zaragoza move breaks down over broken promisesDefender’s La Liga switch off Portuguese international Ricardo Costa has been left disappointed after his proposed move from Wolfsburg to Real Zaragoza fell through after disagreements between player and club.
Costa, 28, revealed on Saturday that he expected to complete a 2m euro move to Spain over the weekend. However, speaking to Radio Renascenca, the player said that Zaragoza failed to follow up their initial contract offer when he flew to Spain to sign a three-year deal. “When I arrived to sign the contract it was not what we agreed, it was missing much of what had been promised,” explained the former Porto stopper. “Either people are serious or they’re not worth it. I don’t want to be at a club that doesn’t respect their word. I’d still like to play in Spain, but I will have to wait for the next opportunity.” Related article: Ricardo Costa poised for Zaragoza move Add your comment |
