Tiago linked with Wolfsburg switch

January transfer mooted

German champions Wolfsburg are keen on adding Juventus’ Portuguese international Tiago Mendes to their squad during the winter transfer window, according to reports.

Media sources in France, where Tiago played for three seasons with Lyon, indicate that the Bundesliga side are prepared to offer a fee in the region of 8m Euros for the 28-year-old, who has struggled to convince during his two years in Serie A.

Tiago’s problems in Italy were compounded recently when, for the second year running, he was short-listed for the dreaded ‘Golden bin’ award, issued to the worst player in the Italian championship during the course of the year.

The former Benfica man made just 35 league appearances during his opening two seasons with the Bianconeri, and has been used sparingly by Ciro Ferrara so far this term, leading many to believe that Juventus would be receptive to offers for the midfielder.

Wolfsburg, where Portugal defender Ricardo Costa is currently a starting defender, are currently 5th in the German league, five points behind unbeaten early leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

In the run up to the World Cup it would be ideal to see players in the seleccao like Tiago playing regularly.

The Bundesliga is a strong league nowadays and catching up with Serie A. Its very competitive and attack-minded and I think it would be a good challenge for him and should get more playing time and confidence.
Tiago should have never left Lyon

Tiago has been a disaster at Juve. And not just for locking the president in the bathroom either. His form has been better this season since Diego's arrival and Juve ditched the 4-4-2. But he's cost Juve points on a few occasions for terrible clearances in the box.

Fact is that both Lyon and Tiago have not been the same since he left. That move was always a losing proposition for all three sides: Lyon, himself, and his next club.
Leave tiago

He's not Mentally tough nor I think he'll ever be! The guy plays with no balls he's totally afraid of making mistakes.Deco makes a thousand mistakes a game but yet his confidence never seems to be a issue.
Tiago

Tiago is better than this, he has been Juve's best midfielders recently what happened. I think ever since the Felipe Melo signing his self-esteem when down. Tiago can make their starting XI in my opinion.
