Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Costa set to sign for Lille - reportDefender heads to France Portuguese international Ricardo Costa is on the verge of leaving German champions Wolfsburg for Lille on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The former Porto defender has been linked with several clubs across the continent during the transfer window, including Valencia and Lazio, as he looks for a move to boost his chances of making Portugal’s World Cup squad. According to Maisfutebol, the player has confirmed that Lille have won the race for his signature on a deal that will run for the remainder of the current season. Costa will travel to France tomorrow to complete the formalities of his transfer to Rudi Garcia’s side. Lille have enjoyed a superb season in Ligue 1 so far, currently occupying third place with seven wins from their last eight matches, although this month saw them eliminated from both domestic cups: Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France.
