A draw would have been alright PDF Print E-mail

I'm German, but I will admit, that the German team couldn't have complained about a draw. But they were not at their true form, as their preparation was hampered by the Munich players, the backbone of the team, joining the rest late. It's unlucky for Portugal to lose, but I wonder a bit about the chances mentioned here. Have I seen something wrong, or are there other reasons why nobody mentioned Germany's best chance (apart from the goal)? They were attacking and actually got the ball into the goal, but the referee stopped the game just a second earlier, because a German player had been fouled! An absolutely ridiculous decision! I think Portugal has a good chance to beat the other two teams and wish them luck. Germany, I feel confident, will get markedly better during the tournement. So it was really bad luck for Portugal to be beaten by a German team still far from its peak form. Get out and win the next two!
