We commenced the game cautiously- which in retrospect was smarter than all guns blazing.
What dissapointed me to a degree was that they only truly searched for a goal once they had conceded.
At the recent world cup ,same was evident against spain
[fortunate to have been in stadium]-we only truly became competitive once we had conceded.
Paulo Bento didnt want to lose this game- clearly that was his objective.
To be brutal- we often dont believe were good enough-but were actually are.
All is not lost, were capable of getting 6 points in the next two games-lets hope the players believe so too.
Regarding Varela- yes he was effective once he came on - but honestly dont believe he should start, [bear in mind -he came on once the opposition players had tired, after 80 min]
Conclusion,i personally believe we will get 4 pts @ best , and this group will go down to goal difference or head to head.
