AEK's Portuguese players
Geraldo Alves (born November 8, 1980)
Central defender Geraldo Alves was given his debut in the Portuguese league by Benfica in the 2000/01 season, but after spells with Beira-Mar and Gil Vicente, it was with Pacos Ferreira that the tall stopper made his name. Alves spent four years at the Estadio da Mata Real, before leaving for a new challenge in the Greek capital in 2007, following in the footsteps of his younger brother, Porto's Bruno Alves, who represented AEK in 2004/05.
