Didn't get a chance to watch the game but it seems like at least one of the reds was controversial. In any case, Sporting has played relatively well against the other big teams in the league this season and finished pretty strongly. With the exception of the lull they experienced early this year, the team played quite well and made a decent run in the Europa League, with the Man City victory being a very spcial historical win for the club. I can only see this team improving next year with the extra chemistry they get and if Sa Pinto can continue to provide the much-needed stability and leadership. So while I am disappointed that SCP won't be vying for a CL spot, there are some reasons for optimism.
