I don't know why so many keep going on and on about Paulo Jorge, the fact is he's not going to be in the squad, no chance, just accept it. This is for a number of reasons; firstly he's uncapped, plays in Cyprus (with all due respect) and mainly because Bento is stubborn as we all know, and is totally unlikely to experiment with a new player so late in the process. I agree that central defence is our biggest weakness and the back-ups are not great, we will just have to hope Pepe and Alves stay fit or on the pitch (lol).
As for the midfield, I will not be surprised either if Fernandes doesn't even make the squad at all. Don't forget Bento has only played him recently in a few friendlies, and he didn't exactly set them alight, did he? Like other posters i'd much prefer Fernandes than Carlos Martins in the squad, but Bento might well select Martins instead, a personal favourite of his. I would also like to see Carrico in the starting 11, but Bento may not even select him for the squad, i wouldn't be surprised. I would also like to see Micael in the squad. Nobody else seems to, but i think he offfers something different from all the other midfielders we have, he is tricky and skillful and is more offensive than any of the other midfielders. Let the debate continue...
