Mallorca's Portuguese players Jose Nunes
 Jose Nunes is a solid if unspectacular defender, who has plied his trade in La Liga with Mallorca since January 2006. The Aveiro-born stopper had a slow rise through the domestic game in Portugal, representing Maia and Salgueiros before spells with more recognised outfits Gil Vicente and Braga brought him to the attention of Mallorca. Nunes became an instant first-choice after arriving in the Balearic Islands, proving to be one of Mallorca's most consistent performers and signing a long-term contract which ties him to the club until 2011 and the age of 34.
