Makukula at the double in Turkey

Sivasspor 2-4 Kayserispor

Ariza Makukula shows no sign of slowing down his impressive form in Turkish football, with the Benfica-owned striker getting a brace in Kayserispor’s win at Sivasspor this evening.

The Portuguese took his league tally to eight goals in nine appearances since joining Kayserispor on loan from the Eagles in August. The victory keeps Makukula’s men in fifth place in the Turckell Super Lig, just one point and one place from a European position.

Gokhan Emreciksin started the scoring after seven minutes with a superb individual goal, and Makukula doubled the visitors’ advantage ten minutes before half time when he converted from close-range to give Kayserispor a two-goal lead going into the interval.

Yannick Kamanan pulled one back for Sivasspor early in the second period, but Emrecikson make it 3-1 to the away side on 53 minutes when he neatly converted a cutback from the right flank. Just one minute later and Makukula made it four, latching onto a through ball and finishing clinically with his left foot.

Sedat Bayrak did pull a goal back for the home team, but Kayserispor were comfortable winners and ended a three-match winless run in all competitions with a valuable three points at the Sivas 4 Eylül Stadium.
