Portuguese CupThe draw for the semi-finals of the Portuguese Cup has paired together the two strongest teams left in the competition, FC Porto and Rio Ave. In the other tie Liga Vitalis club Chaves will play Naval, with the winner making it to their first ever final.

Porto fans at the Estadio do DragaoPortuguese Cup holders FC Porto marched into the semi-finals of this year’s competition after thrashing Sporting 5-2 at the Estadio do Dragao tonight.

Goals from Rolando, Falcao (two), Varela and Mariano saw the hosts run out easy winners, with Izmailov and Liedson giving the scoreline a modicum of respectability for the visitors.

Portuguese Cup: Carvalhal confident ahead of clash of the titans
