Leonardo Jardim in the Sporting hot seat
Ex Braga coach signs two-year contract at the Alvalade
 Leonardo Jardim is the new coach of Sporting Clube de Portugal. The 38 year-old was yesterday presented at the Alvalade after signing a two-year contract.
Jardim has never hidden the fact he is a Sporting fan, and he reiterated his delight at joining the club. “As a 15 year-old kid, looking at the television, I had a dream that I would train this club one day. I’m extremely happy this dream has come true.” His words triggered a spontaneous round of applause from the Sporting supporters present at the unveiling. |

Sporting leave it late to beat Nacional
Sporting 2-1 Nacional
 Sporting ran out winners in a hugely entertaining game at the Alvalade after a late headed goal by Marcos Rojo gave the home side the points. Diego Capel scored very early on for Sporting, Candeias scored a superb equaliser for the away side and Rojo's late header won it for the hosts to keep Sporting in the fight for European football. |

Sporting score last-gasp winner - again
Sporting 3-2 Moreirense
 A Viola header in the final minute of stoppage time gave Sporting a precious victory in a five-goal thriller against Moreirense at the Alvalade tonight. Diego Capel (penalty) and Ricky van Wolfswinkel had twice given the Lions the lead, but twice the visitors equalised through Ghilas and Aníbal Capela. |

Wolfswinkel treble sinks Braga
Premier League bound striker hits last minute winner
 Sporting overcame their namesakes Braga in a thrilling encounter at the AXA stadium on Monday night, courtesy of a clinical hat-trick from Dutchman Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. The Lisbon side were twice pegged back, by goals from Elderson and Carlão, but emerged victorious from a pulsating contest to win in front of new chairman Bruno de Carvalho.

Sporting sell van Wolfswinkel to Norwich – reports
Dutch striker offloaded to pay outstanding wages
 According to several press reports in Portugal, Sporting have reached agreement to sell striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel to EPL side Norwich. A Bola reports that the deal was concluded on Wednesday, with the Dutchman moving to England in the summer in exchange for a transfer fee of around €10 million. |
