Silvestre Varela to miss World Cup after breaking leg in training

 FC Porto winger Silvestre Varela is almost certainly out of the 2010 World Cup after breaking his left fibula. Varela is out for the rest of the season and is highly unlikely to be fit in time to make Carlos Queiroz’s 23-man squad for South Africa. |
